daily posts will resume on August 1,2010 (This monday).
Introducing Sky Ferreira, an American singer that is currently working on promoting her second single 'One' off of her upcoming debut album, which unfortunately is still TBA (to be announced).
She's been around for quite a while actually, another previous single had already been released a while ago via iTunes. She wasn't known as she is now of course, but ever since i first heard '17'... i fell in love with her Electropop style.
So lately I’ve been posting lots of Latin Pop Star 'Belinda' tracks, both Latin and some from her English crossover attempts. What you may not know though, is that this although this seems like the first time she's tried to cross the line between Latin and English music, it all goes back to the beginning of her music career. It started off when she first released her self-titled debut album that would define her as a pop singer and not just an actress (which was what she was known as). She convinced her management to give her a try and since then, she's made endless English versions of her current material. She's not bad at all, i mean yeah her spanish accent is still noticeable but she's actually a bit better than other Latin artists that have tried to jump the language line… she just hasn't found the right songs yet in my opinion.
So I decided what I would post what I consider are her best English tracks by far in only this post. (Unless she releases new ones in the future of course). Enjoy =]
Mmk, so this isn't new but its something worth posting. It's one of the many leaked tracks i really enjoy listening to. I'm not sure, but this sounds more like a demo. Either way, here's Lady GaGa with 'No Way'. =]
Here it is, the official SPANGLISH version of Belinda's newest single 'Egoista'. I've been following this record for more than a year. I know I posted the Spanish version a while ago, but this is a complete different version. I was actually expecting an English version, since most sources confirmed so, but I’m guessing this is it. It isn't officially part of her newest Latin Pop album 'Carpe Diem' since this version was released as a digital single via iTunes, but it's something worth listening to.
I know many dislike KE$HA (or so they say), cuz to be honest… I don’t understand how many say they dislike her… yet her record keeps breaking the charts, putting her on top of the pop list. I Love KE$HA, and personally I think her music is twisted good. So for all them haterz, you can suck it! Ha!
The music video has already been filmed; it is unknown when or where it will premiere but here are some stills off the set…
It's not so often that I post R&B songs, but this is one of those times when I sincerely can't keep it to myself. 'This One (Crying Like A Child)' was part of Utada's third English studio album titled 'This Is The One'. The record was officially released on March 14,2009, but the track itself was never released as a single. The album did well overall according to the US Billboard charts. It's rare to find a Japanese-American singer do well in the American music industry. Her vocals are extraordinary, and although her accent slips out every once in a while.. She makes it work for her. Every track off of the album showcases her talent perfectly with soul and passion. Take a listen!
This was a bit unexpected, but this is 'New York City Gurls' (East Coast). Yes, it is a cover to Katy Perry's 'California Gurls'. I dont know if it's due to the lack of success of her last few singles released, but Kat DeLuna did great by covering this song. I really enjoy her music. Always have, always will. Enjoy!
Okay, although it still remains as one of my fav tracks of all-time, now that her first single 'Can't Be Tamed' has been over-played throughout the media a little, i think Cyrus should get right to the second single. It isn't official on which track from her third studio album will serve as the second single but in my opinion, 'Liberty Walk' should be honored as such.
Yeah, it has a tiny resemblance with 'Can't Be tamed', (vocal, and instrumental wise w/its synthpop beats) but it's pretty catchy, and 100% HIT material.
Personally, i love every track on the album. Cyrus did great by exploring other genres and experimenting with different styles. 'Can't Be Tamed' is already in stores. =]
This track started off as a joke, but it has turned out to be an official GIRLICIOUS track. Not only will it appear in the JERSEY SHORE's second season soundtrack, but may also be featured in the new STEP UP3D flick. (RUMOR)
show me some new moves? haha now that disney has taken over the film series. the third installment of the 'step up' dance flicks is already on its way. a few of the older cast will return *cough* Alyson Stoner ((the girl from the missy elliot videos)) LOL, and Adam Sevani ... that kid with the hat that has some sick moves from the second film remember?... Anyways, Its official release date is on August 6,2010. For those who aren't 3D fans, it is scheduled to be released in conventional 2D as well. The soundtrack is looking sick as well =] w/artists like 'Flo Rida, David Guetta, Sophia Fresh, T-Pain, Estelle, Jazmine Sullivan, and additional artists like GIRLICIOUS, B.o.B., Wisin & Yandel... etc.
Pop Trash, Recycled, Sampled (call it wathever you want). Now in days most music sounds very familiar, but here's a track that was completely flipped over w/a whole new meaning. Yes, it's the same instrumental BUT, the lyrics are completely different... and so is the language **duh**.
It was first released by Kim-Lian Feat. Linda Bengtzing back in 2009 titled 'Not That Kinda Girl (Wacko)'. I don't know much about these singers, but their version is pretty decent. However, early this year Latin Pop Singer Belinda released her spanish version which is titled'Wacko'. **included on her brand new album 'Carpe Diem' btw**.
Personally, i like both versions but you be the judge?
Belinda 'Wacko'
The following track was very well promoted through Germany's Next Top Model. (that's actually how i came across the song in the first place). LOL It caused a great impact around the underground pop scene back in 2009. It started off as a basic track for 'Martin Solveig's (a french pop funk singer) Remixes CD, but turned out to be a hit. The music video is quite popular through youtube actually. Anyways, it features Canadian synth/electropop group 'Dragonette' (one of my fav groups btw... damn Canadians <3). Enjoy!
